The Whole-Bed Fit Plan
Check the frame against the room, size the sheet for the whole stack, hang the duvet past the depth, and give each sleeper a tog and a pillow
BedFly's six free tools each size one piece of a bed: the Mattress Size Guide, the Bed & Room Fit Planner, the Bedding Size & Fit Calculator, the Duvet Tog Calculator, the Pillow Loft & Firmness Finder and the Sheet Thread Count Guide. A bed is bought as all of them at once, and the mistakes live between them: a mattress that fits the room inside a frame that does not, a fitted sheet bought for the mattress without its topper, a duvet picked by size that stops short of the edge. The Whole-Bed Fit Plan joins the six tools in the order you buy. It checks the frame, not the mattress, against the room: a US King leaves 63.5 cm a side in a 320 cm wide room, and a frame 10 cm wider leaves 58.5 cm, tight against a 60 cm walkway, while a California King frame leaves 63.5 cm with 91.5 cm for each sleeper. It measures the mattress and topper together (a 30 cm mattress under a 7.5 cm topper needs a 43 cm, extra-deep pocket, not 35 cm), checks that the duvet hangs past that depth (a King duvet clears it by 3 cm on a California King and falls 2 cm short on a King), works a tog and a pillow for each of two sleepers, and reads the pocket on a label before the thread count. It is for adults' beds only: duvets, quilts and pillows are not for babies under 12 months, and it makes no health claim. The worked figures are examples and every one is computed by the site's own calculators. Included: 7 steps, 4 printable working pages, a reference table of every size with its duvet drop, a quickstart, and a personalised sheet worked out from the numbers you enter.

The plan picks up where the free Mattress Size Guide, Bed & Room Fit Planner, Bedding Size & Fit Calculator and Duvet Tog Calculatorleave off. Each sizes one piece of a bed; the plan fits them together in the order you buy. It checks the frame, not the mattress, against the room; lets the walkway pick the size; measures the mattress and topper together before choosing the sheet pocket; checks that the duvet hangs past that depth; works a tog and a pillow for each sleeper; and reads the pocket on a label before the thread count. It is for adults’ beds only: duvets, quilts and pillows are not for babies under 12 months, and it sizes nothing for a crib or toddler bed. The worked figures are examples; your room and your bed are yours to fill in.
